Anzio War Memorial and Abbey at Monte Cassino

Can any one tell me the best way to to visit both of these places. I don;t think we have time for a formal tour. Can we drive to the Abbey and visit from there. Where is the Memorial Cemetary in Anzio. We will be stopping for lunch.

Commonwealth Cemetery:

If it's like American war cemeteries, there are no tours.

American Cemetery (in Nettuno):

There is another Commonwealth cemetery at Cassino (as well as Polish, German and Italian cemeteries also in the immediate area).

Many years ago, we did a battlefields tour of Monte Cassino and found it extremely helpful in understanding what happened which isn't so easy since the abbey was rebuilt and vegetation has obviously grown back.

If you want to add Nettuno, the cemetery is located out of the town within walking distance. We took the train to Nettuno (train also goes to Anzio) and had a good seafood lunch before setting out on foot for the cemetery. No tours, just visit on your own.
