Anyone wear Crocs on a trip?

They are so comfortable and I was wondering if anyone had worn them on a trip? I would imagine that they would be great on a flight. I'm not sure if they would be a bit sweaty in very hot weather but I have noticed that my podiatrist wears them all the time. Last time I went into our local hospital almost every nurse was wearing a pair.
Anyone?

Where are you going? I might not wear them to place with a rocky terrain but I'm wearing them to Paris in April.............

I'm not off on a trip at right now, just wondering for future reference goodcookie.

Thanks for the link kybourbon, very amusing.

I have a navy pair and a stone sort of colour, love them but I think I'll invest in a nice shocking colour for my next trip :-)

I wore Crocs on the flight from Melbourne, Australia to Frankfurt and return and will do so again this year. They could have been designed for the purpose. I also wore them occasionally in various places in Germany, though usually I wore Sioux shoes.

And why not yellow wellington boots ?

shandy Feb 2nd, 2007 10:13 PM

adeben, I've got an idea that you are in Melbourne too.

Where are you buying your Sioux shoes from? The couple of shops that I used to buy them from say that they can't really access them anymore. I've bought Ara (also German) the last couple of times which I have very happy with, but still wouldn't mind checking out the latest Sioux if I can find them.

Aloha Mischka!! Hope you are well.

I have worn my crocs to Vegas and to other parts of Hawaii. they've been very comfortable. I usually wear them in destinations where I think they'll be widely accepted. Here in Hawaii, the celebrities wear the "louder" colors like purple or orange! I'm too chicken so I have a black pair but I decorated it with a "Jibbet."

Aloha Melissa,

All's well down this end of the world, trust it is all the way around the other side too.

Glad to hear you are part of the 'cool set' in your crocs :-) They are good for walking on the beach...which is only two minutes from my front door....hint, hint!!!

I like your idea Norween, but I think I'll go for the wellie style (georgie) crocs, in shocking pink for my next winter trip!

Hi Shandy: Mountfords in Bourke Street.

shandy Feb 3rd, 2007 12:58 AM

Adeben, it was actually Mountfords in Bourke Road that told me the other week they were having trouble getting them now. I'll keep my eye out for them.

Crocs - Designed in Boulder Colorado, made in China - right or wrong?
I don't care - I absolutely love them!
They are not the most eyecatching footwear to hit the streets but they are definitely the footwar of the person who doesn't want to know he has feet - let alone shoes on them feet!
Admittedly, I would not wear them to dinner at ANY restaurant in Paris but during them day - for sure.
I bet if some Rock Star or actor wore them they would instantly become the footwear to be seen in.
Thank you Mischka for posing the question! Yes, they are definitely my next vacation shoes.

Tod I have a pair bought in the UK which say MADE IN Cananda and they are soft and super comfy. The other pair was bought here in South Africa and say Boulder Colorado (not made in), they are also great but much harder with more pronounced bumps on the inner sole. I asked the shop keeper about it and she said the Boulder one comes from China. Makes you think!

Never so crocs worn so much than when visiting Israel last summer. Kids, teens, older folks all wear them - even saw a few Orthodox men walking through the Old City. So, if you're ever planning a trip to Israel be sure to bring them along. Couldn't imagine wearing them in European cities...they are great for dewey mornings at summer camp.

The last time I checked, nurses weren't walking the runway at the Karl Lagerfeld show in Paris.

Why do you want to look like you are ready to give a sponge bath?

adeben Feb 3rd, 2007 05:03 PM

Or. conversely, why would anyone want to look (or walk) like the units on display at the Karl Lagerfeld show in Paris?

MelissaHI Feb 3rd, 2007 07:25 PM

Crocs have been very popular amongst triathletes, since after a race you kinda want to slip your feet into something looser & cool with or without your socks. I am "just" a marathoner myself, but I wear my crocs hoping people think I look more like an athlete!

Also nurses are not the only ones who wear crocs. Mario Batali wears his regularly.

kybourbon, will you check the other forum for advice on helping a daughter pack for study abroad?

kybourbon Feb 4th, 2007 05:29 PM

Thanks Starrs! I did.
