I would appreciate your help! First timer to Europe!
Planning a trip to Paris and Belgium for travel in Aug/Sept for 12 days. Possible travel dates are Aug. 30th through September 9th. Would like to take advantage of the Labor Day holiday. Flight would leave out of SFO to arrive in either CDG or BRU.
So far best rate I could find is $1,177 with one stop on Northwest Airlines.

You have so captured my interest with this that you prompted me to try (yet again) to log-in when the site has been refusing me for months-and this time it has worked! Thank you!
I've spent some days trying to find decent flights to Australia and I'm finding it pretty expensive. These are the important bits
1. We need to be in Melbourne on the 24th October when we've been invited to a wedding.
2. I don't want to fly non-stop and the initial idea was to stop over in Bali one direction and Hong Kong the other. That seems expensive so other options include Singapore (which we've visited before).
3. We need to be back on the 4th November.
4. Provisional itinerary is MAN-SIN 18th Oct. SIN-MEL 22nd Oct. Overland /internal flights via Sydney-Cairns. Cairns- Hong Kong 1st Nov. Hong Kong- MAN 3rd Nov.
5. The only immovable is the wedding.
Thank you for getting me back on Fodors!

I can;t see anything cheaper than what you have found. It is still probably too early for any summer sales - prices are very high. You might want to consider looking for a flight out of a larger airport - Chicago, or something that is an airline hub near you and then finding a separate cheap return flight to the hub

I can see $962 on Swiss and $1002 on Delta - both out of LAX for your requested dates and airports.
Out of SNA but back into LAX is $1084
That will probably go down, but not until late spring or and then again maybe in late summer.
At least it is a reference point for you.

You need to get cracking - I can find SFO to ROM for $699 up to mid April on Air Canada and $617 in early march on US Air - 1 connection each (Toronto and PHL respectively).
Those are tax inclusive fares as are all my finds.
Spain coming shortly.

You can also get to Seville in early March for about $688 on BA and Iberia through LHR and MAD and it jumps to $1044 in April with Lufthansa through FRA.
These and the other flights I quoted are generally M-Thurs departures for 7 days but there are some somewhat higher fares around them if that doesn't work at all for you.

that is a little too complex for my abilities.
Without the Internal Cairns leg I can get $4364 - WOWEE.
If you just wnated to go MAN - MEL with no stopovers it can be $1863.

We might have something here.
Leaving around march 18 and returning in the days before April 10th shows in the $700's through Chicago and FRA, or Paris - bets price is about $713.
If you have more specifics on days or length I can take this further.

One question...can you confirm or deny the rumor that if you log on to an airline's website a minute after midnight on Wednesday you're most likely to get the lowest fares? (Or is there a "magical" time?) Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info. I guess I just have to decide whether it's worth waiting a few months to see if the rates go down. One concern I had was that on the one flight (I think it was Venice to Paris), there appear to be only two available seats left on the plane! Wondering if that is fact or just a "glitch". Guess I'll make a call to the airline.
Thanks again for the info!

Hi Aramis,
I'm looking for 2 passengers for the following route:
IAD/DCA - PRG on 5/8/08
returning
VIE - IAD/DCA on 5/17/08
We would like to have nomore than one stop on the way there, and preferably non-stop on the return if not both ways). What can you find? Thanks!

Hi Aramis,
First off, thank you so much for offering your services. It is much appreciated.
What I am looking for is departing SEA 10/22 to Florence Italy, returning 10/29. The best I have found directly to FLR is $1179. I am willing to fly into MXP,FCO or PSA if it could save some money.
Thanks,
Tom

This might be a tough one. I am trying to find an affordable flight from Krakow to Dubrovnik on June 4 or 5. The only thing I could find was one on Austrian Airlines, but it was more than $500. Thanks.
