Finally some more time to look into this!
Travelinow - if you have not booked already, I can see $634 from SFO to MAD through Heathrow for Feb 12 - April 9 and beyond on British Airways. I should be easy to book on their site.
That is a keeper!

Your June trip looks atrocious from a cost perspective. $1445 on Northwest, through Amsterdam, to Bologna, or $1600 plus with two stops each way to reach Venice.
Not good.

$668 on American for Tuesday and Wednesday departures early in march for 12- 13 days. Probably the same for longer stays. Ft. Myers is about $50 higher.
Check American's site

So you want to go to Paris from SFO around April 12, and return about a month later, sandwiching a trip to Birmingham in between.
$1150 -$1200 leaving around April 10 for a month, with a stop each way.
$1240 - $1360 for non-stop depending on how long you stay.
That looks pricey - I would look around for alternatives in the coming weeks.
You are a perfect candidate for booking your pairs flights as bookends to a separate intra_European flight from Paris to Birmingham - $270 on Lufthansa with 1 stop and $290 on Air France NS

All I can see is about $1290 on Continental for Geneva and Madrid.
I think you will need to wait for possible seat sales for the summer if they happen, or bite a really big bullet.

Aramis, I can see you've been a tremedous help to everyone.
I have a more general question.
I usually go away for Christmas somewhere here in North America.
I'm thinking I'd like to go somewhere in Europe next Christmas.
Are there ever really good deals for this time of year?
I'd be departing from BUF or Toronto and willing to go anywhere in Europe really. But it would have to be a sweet deal. Otherwise, I'll go somewhere closer to home again.
What's your opinion?

It looks around $1,000, as you say for April. You can do in and out of Rome for $880 on Air canada through Toronto but getting from VCE to ROM will cost you the difference anyway.
However, ther is lots in February, in to VCE and out of ROM, on KLM for about $700.
It's not that cold in Italy in Feb, is it? :-0

We'd love your help!
Flying out of Orange County, CA (SNA) on Oct 31, 2008 to Rome. (Might consider flying out of LAX or Ontario, CA if the price is really great.)
Flying out of Venice on Nov 15, 2008. On the return flight we are willing to fly into SNA or LAX or Ontario, CA.
Prefer no more than one stop.
Would love to be on Delta/Alitalia/Air France or any of the other Delta mileage partners.
If you want even more specific info - we'd love to arrive in Rome before noon on Nov 1 and to depart from Venice sometime after 10am on Nov 15.
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

Hi,
We are traveling Des Moines to Venice on June 24th.
We fly back from Milan to Des Moines on July 16th.
I have found one fare of $1317.00 on airfare.com. All other fares are in the $1500.00 range and up.
Can you find anything for less? Thanks for your help! Laurie

Flying out of SFO and looking for 1-week trips to FCO and SVQ (or just to MAD or BCN and get a LCC to SVQ) from March on through October.
So far, it's hard to find fares under $1200, even when it's not suppose to be in the high season.
In previous years, you could find fares well under $1000 in March.
These are Skyteam fares I've seen.

If the idea is to get to Seville, then you could also fly to Germany and take a low-cost carrier. There are numerous fares in the $400-500 all-in range for Oakland -German cities on United/Lufthansa for March (particularly the first part of March). But these aren't available from SFO. CGN and FRA and MUC are good airports to look at.
