Aramis I don't want to take advantage of your good will, but if you have the time....here goes:

KoreanAir:

4 January KE 0082 JFK to ICN
5 January KE 0653 ICN to BKK

31 January KE 0682 SGN to ICN
31 January ICN to JFK

Can you find me a great price for business class?? (Better than on the KoreanAir site..)

Again, only if you have time to fool around with this!

Many thanks!!

Aramis,
This is very nice of you to help everyone.

Do you have any tricks to finding a good airfare from STL to FCO, then back VCE-STL? Looking to go for about 8 nights. Dates are totally flexible - either in April or May. I haven't seen anything below $1k yet.

If you can use JFK and don't mind booking the trip in 2 stages JFK-LHR LHR - SPU then DBV - LHR

you can get your Split & Dubrovnik wish for about $1205US

The connection in Heathrow on the way back is; in at 11:00 out at 1;15 (daytime) and on the way out there would be about 5 hours.

Again, you could stop in London with this type of arrangement.

The Croatia flight has a stop in Zagreb for both legs.

this is at anytime in the week before the 24th Sept 2008 (my 40th)

I know Manchester / Miami is not poss - any ideas

Lolly (love the nick)

Prices are looking high on this routing. Any other US airport you are willing to fly our of?

The cheapest i can see from St. Louis to Europe in April or may is into Frankfurt - for about $725. There are FRA FCO return flights pretty much anytime for $108US - yes that is correct - on Lufthansa.

Into FCO and out of VCE or vice versa ups it to $185US. SO it is a little cheaper and you can stop in Frankfurt if you want.

These should be bookable anywhere in the two segments.

You didn't state how long you were going for.

I think you will have to make 2 stops each way - US gateway, then Fort Lauderdale

Right now I can find $1209US on Continental for Sep 18 - 30 but for a week I have seen about $1321US (Sep 20-28)

Aramis,
You are very kind. And here I am about to tax your kindness

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a large family gathering (21 people) and much depends on the total price we can get for airfare. We are scattered and we're considering a family trip to either Ireland, France or Italy in July or August of this year. We're flexible about which airport within those countries and once there we'd rent cars and places to stay. Our home airports:
6 from Seattle
7 from Portland
4 from Oakland/SFO
3 from LAX
1 from Nairobi (NBO)

What do you recommend? My initial research showed about $1k each to Ireland, $1300 each to France, and $1500 each to Italy. Are you able to find better prices? Do you think prices will drop in the next couple of months?

Thanks in advance for helping me with this puzzle!

I have never taken my "economy" results and tried to factor up to "business" class to check out that fare level. I only fly in the back of the bird

I am not sure of you only want to fly on Korean, because I can see Cathay Pacific, through Hong Kong both legs at $1278 for your dates.

But that is economy. When I go to CP's site and run the same flights through, I get $10,481

-gulp.

If you are looking at $6413 for Korean business class - Expedia is showing Delta at $5654 connecting through Seoul outbound and Taipei inbound.

So Cathay appears to have a killer rate in economy but Delta has the business class - as far as i can see.

Just wanted to say thanks for checking on those Italy flights for me. STL is really the only city I can go out of. I think I'll wait a month or two to see if fares will go down a bit. But flying into Frankfurt or another European city is definitely something to think about.

Are you regretting your offer of assistance now? HA! Everybody wants help finding flights! Thanks again.

Hi Aramis, your very generous offer has brought on lots of requests. Maybe you could just give us some of your tips for finding good fares! And not in the lounge as suggested above, it would be better to do it here.

I need to fly JFK to Naples, Italy on July 4 and FCO to JFK on the 20th. I've mostly been checking on www.kayak.com, and all the prices are $1250 and up. I'd love to get under $900...

Susan;

Air India JFK LHR Jun 4-20 for $701 inclusive - with a good 1:15 p.m. departure from LHR on the way back and a great 06:35 arrival in LHR so you can make any outgoing connection you want.

Then Alitalia from LHR to NAP with an FCO connection and FCO back LHR, all in good time to meet your Air India flights -for example 07:50 from FCO gets into LHR at 09:35 - plenty of time to make your 1:15 p.m.m Air India flight home.
All that for $215 inclusive.

So that's $916 all in - not quite your ideal but for $16 bucks who's going to quibble?

Susan;

Darn - you said July and I did June!

The same routing - still the best - is now $815 on Air India and $255 on Alitalia for a total of $1066.

Gotta focus Aramis!

Boston to Geneva
Return 06/22/08
Venice to Boston
No more than 1 stop if any
Flexibility on departure by a day +/-
Flexibility on return: disembark ship on morning of 06/22
Many thanks for your assistance!
Michele

Aramis thanks.

I went on the Delta website for the flights JFK/BKK and SGN/JFK and I do not see the flights you are speaking of. I see flights to BKK taking over 41 hours with at least two connections...what am I missing??

Aramis, not regretting your offer yet?

I have been scanning the airfares almost daily, looking for fares for our summer trip. I have lots of sites I visit, including www.itasoftware.com, kayak, sidestep, cfares, mobissimo, and qixo. However, the deals haven't posted yet, I guess.

Here's our details:

6 adults, out of Orlando to Edinburgh. Leaving June 13 (arriving 14th), returning July 6, 2008. 4 adults, 2 seniors. Prefer to leave as late in the day as possible, after 5pm is preferred.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Aramis, You could start a web site and make money doing this! This option may work. "If you can use JFK and don't mind booking the trip in 2 stages JFK-LHR LHR - SPU then DBV - LHR"

We could stay for a night in London. Which airline is it? I'm also looking into using Amex points. Any ideas? We could fly directly to Italy using FF and take a ferry??

Thanks again!

Aramis, thanks for that information. However, I don't like the idea of booking two separate airlines on two separate tickets. If the Air India flight is delayed (or the Alitalia one on the way home) and I miss the connecting flight on the other airline, I would have to buy a whole new ticket for that segment. It's just like showing up late at the airport and missing your flight. Could be very expensive.

Aramis.

which sites do you look at?

As a point of information one time I looked up roundtrip flights from Seattle (my home base) to Denver, Orlando, London, Florence, Fresno, Honolulu and NYC.

I made a spread sheet showing prices (same dates including all taxes and fees) for Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline, Kayak, and Expedia. The results were all over the map. There was NOT a single winner. Each site has some "highest" fares and each site had some "lowest" fares.
