Anyone used an inflatable beach ball as footrest on plane?

My husband gets annoyed with me when I tell him that I want my small carry-on to go under the seat. He insists it should go in the overhead. The reason I like it under the seat is that I can pull it out a little and have a place to put my feet. It really makes a difference in comfort.

The beach ball would be a good idea if you don't already have something under the seat. Otherwise, just use it in the aisle and do ab curls on it before lunch or dinner is served.

Luxing, the area in front of you must be clear for take-off and landing, all other times you can put your personal things on the floor, but: whatever you put, will be kicked by people getting out for lavatory unless you're at the window. In this case you can kick their... ummm... things

If you don't put anything underneath the seat in front of you, sure, a small ball may work. I know it will be of no use for me - I bring a carry-on with water (after security! ), snacks, other personal things like towelettes, medicine.

Also, if you use a ball, will you have enough knee room if a person in front of you reclines all the way?

Well, I am short and I think it would work for me. Will try in my next overseas flight...Thanks for the idea!

Of course, if it doesn't work as a footrest, I can always toss it over to the other side of the plane and get a game going...

I think it is a fabulous idea. I am 4'10" tall and my feet do not reach the floor. It is incredibly uncomfortable to sit with my legs dangling - just about kills my back. I usually pull my carryon out and use that as my foot rest, but the beachball thing sounds way more comfortable. I just might have to try that

I'm short and I think this is a brilliant idea. I'm going to try it on my next flight.

I'll be expecting a trip report from all of you who are going to try this out. And if I see anyone on a plane with a beach ball under their feet... I'm commin' over to introduce myself!

I, too, would be interested in hearing from those who try this out! Please post how it worked for you.

(And yes, I'm short, so a partially inflated beach ball might work as a footrest for me. Using my carry-on bag under the seat in front of me as a footrest never works well for me. And the folding footrest they sell at Magellans, etc., is simply too small for comfort for me.)
