Anyone use airfareplanet.com for flight tickets?
My boyfriend found some inexpensive airfares for our trip to Italy on airfareplanet.com. Has anyone heard of or used this site before? Any issues/problems?
Thanks! |

I noticed that most of their bargain fares are not available when you check further. Also they do not calculate in the airport fees until you select a particular flight. These fees can range up to $150.00 on top of the stated fare. Try:

I just put a June date in
airfareplanetl.com and then checked the same dates on the airline websites. It was cheaper by almost 900.00 USD to not use airfareplanet.com This was for business class but you can do the same with a coach fare if that is what you are flying |
The price he paid was just over $1500 for 2 round trip nonstop tickets from Boston to Milan in early September. He was stunned to find prices that low, that's why we're a bit skeptical.

There have been some fair to middlin' sales off and on the last few months. $750 Boston to Milan and back isn't so low as to be any definite indicator of fraud or a bogus website.
I've never heard of airfareplanet, so I can't say for certain that it's a valid or problem-free place to buy airline tickets. But the $750 price isn't impossible. |
I think this is the same search engine that flights.com uses, which is fairly well-known. You can buy the tickets and then wait a day and contact the airlines and see if they have your booking. It should be pretty cut and dried if they are a fraudulent organization in terms of getting your money back from your credit card. However, on my search, I did not find them particularly cheap.
