Anyone taken Rick Steves' tour of Scandinavia?
 

We keep revising our plans for next June's trip to Scandinavia. Have just rec'd Rick Steves' brochure and the itinerary looks better than Tauck's. Has anyone taken this tour? We did France with Rick's tour and loved France but were not thrilled with some of the accommodations. Please give your thoughts asap....we may book this week. Were you happy with his itinerary? Thanks.

Have you looked at the scrapbooks on his website? They often have hotel info. You could try calling and asking for hotel names and then checking tripadvisor as next year's hotels might be different.

Also , go on RS website and read Tour Member Feedback. IF you did a RS tour before you know they send out a survey and if you fill it out they do post it, without editing.
I know as I posted a critical comment about out tour guide,( mostly I LOVED the tour, but just had one negative comment) and wondered if they'd post them, they did, which reassurred me about their honesty.

PS What about hotels didn't you like? You do realize RS tours are not in the same luxury catergory as Tauck. There will be stairs, the rooms may be small , and forget staying in 4 *. We though they were all clean and well run.
