Anyone stayed in CARRETAS 202 or CALLE MAYOR I - Madrid - Spain Select??

I guess I waiting too long to book a Madrid Apartment but am now deciding between two Spain Select properties for later May for two adults and two 18 & 20 yr children.

Both are two bedroom, the Calle Mayor I is larger but it's on Calle Mayor and I'm concerned about being too noisy to sleep. The description doesn't state that it's not noisy.

Catera 202 is a little smaller and is located on Calle de Carretas where the description says in rather quiet which I believe is in relative terms. Both are the same cost and close to each other.
Any help with experiences is greatly appreciated, need to make a decision soon!

Thanks to All !

We stayed in Carretas building...one flor higher in 2010... a busy pedestrian street.
The bedrooms were o.k., we had to keep the window closed in the living room facing the street.
I think, I mentioned it to you that Calle Mayor I does NOT face the street.

Home away is a good location..not sure how noisy at night.

I would stick with the Spain Select options. Calle Mayor I is large, but the lack of an elevator (2nd floor) shouldn't be a hindrance. I'd only look at the homeaway listing if the Calle Mayor property is no longer available.

Robert- I realize Spain Select is a class act and prefer to go with them unless something much better is available.
I've used VRBO w/great sucess, but never Homeaway and don't know anything about them. They aren't as responsive as SS. Have you had a bad experiences w/Homeaway?

Danon- You'd choose Calle Mayor over Carretas? Thanks!!

The problem with Homeway is that the owner may take too long getting back to you or the property, although still listed, has been removed for personal use. We found this when trying to book properties in northern Italy for last summer and fall.

Besides the payment options are better with SS, and they actually manage the properties, not just represent them.

No, Carretas in newer and has more space in the second bedroom.
Both locations are as central as can be.
The bedrooms in Carretas do NOt face the street...the living room does.
Actually, we preferred Carretas.
