Anyone stayed at Residence Henri IV in the 5th?

My husband and I will be in Paris for 14 days, and noticed this hotel has kitchenettes in every room. What do you think? Has anyone ever stayed there? The price is not exhorbitant and the location sounds good. It is in Cheap Sleeps in Paris.

E.C., I think this hotel looks great and was going to book there, also. In the end, I decided to stay in the Saint Germain area. I'll be leaving for Paris Feb 14 and intend to stop by the hotel to check it out for future trips. If you will send me an e-mail, I'll let you know when I return. It is also recommended in the Michelin guide and Alistair Sawday's books.

Peg,
I have responded to you by e-mail and certainly hope to hear from you again upon your return from Paris. Thank you for your comments and any future tips you might have. MC

I have no information on it but most residences have received very good reviews. The ones that haven't were generally downgraded because of location. This one is an excellent location - you'll be walking to much of the central area. For more go to: www.anamericaninparis.com
[email protected]

I think it looks good, too, and I have found you can usually trust Sandra Gustafson's book to give honest specifics. I don't understand the above comment by FMin or what he is referring to by "have received reviews" --by whom, when and where? Just because a place has the word "residence" in it doesn't mean it is equivalent to other places with that word in the title. It does not even mean anything that specific, as it is used in Paris for a variety of accommodations from regular hotels (ie, Residence Monge and St Christophe) to suite-type hotels which have kitchenettes (like this one) to more deluxe versions of that (Residence des Arts) to places more like longterm apartments or apartment/hotels (Residence Charles Dullin) to places that are real low budget and more like rooming houses. Just because one is good doesn't mean anything about another, unless it's a chain with similar amenties and quality (eg, Citadines or Orion but I don't think they refer to themselves as Residence).
