Anyone stayed at Hotel Parco di Principi, Rome lately ?
 

Am considering staying at the Parco di Principi in Rome in April. Has anyone stayed there lately and would like to comment?

I can't tell you anything about the hotel itself, but that's not a very good location. It's at the northeast end of the Villa Borghese area, a long way from most of what you will want to see (except the Galleria Borghese, of course, which is definitely worth seeing). It would be much better to be near the historical center of Rome, near the Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori or the Pantheon.

I was about to suggest that you should check TripAdvisor...but it seems like there is only one and old review. So that doesn't help much. But I think Susan's advice is good.

I like the area around the Borghese Garsdens. As a morning runner, the area suits me perfectly and I also enjoy the quieter streets in the evening.

Please do not interpret "not a good location" to mean that there is anything wrong with the area as there is not. It is just not in the center of the historcal center, which is very convenient for sure but not the only good choice for Rome.

I agree, kfusto. I've been to Rome twice. The first time, a long time ago, I stayed at the Parco di Principi with a tour group. The second time, I went out of my way to choose that vicinity to stay in and I enjoyed staying at the Hotel della Muse. I like the quieter, residential, nontouristy feel of that area.

If you are a walker you can walk from that hotel (I stayed there before the famous fire) to the top of the Via Veneto and on through the underground walkway to the Spanish Steps.

The hotel has a great pool and it is in a very quiet neighborhood. It is NOT near "visitor central" but some folks prefer not to be.
