anyone stayed at Borgo San Felice?
Any reports on this hotel and dining?
|
Very nice place but a bit remote and not easy to access after dark.
|
As Bob says, the Borgo San Felice is pretty far from anything else. It's a little stand alone hamlet that has only a hotel, full of Americans when we were there, and a vineyard and little shop. The food was quite good and the setting nice, but I wouldn't stay there again.

any other suggestions for that type of place with easier access?
Would La Suvera have better access? |
I haven't been to Tuscany yet, but while researching for my trip, I came across Villa Poggiana in Montepulciano (www.villapoggiano.com) which looks lovely. I also liked the looks of Relais La Saracina which is close to Pienza (http://www.lasaracina.it) Try doing a search here for both of those -- I remember La Saracina was recommended but I can't remember if there were reviews for the former.

Tell us what you want and the context of your trip. Are you driving--is price not a factor--are children involved--how many days ????

we need a base for four nights to visit the usual chianti, tuscany and maybe over to assisi. this is a special occassion trip so my top price would be 300-350 euro per night.
Want a lovely charming spot with a very comfortable room and bathroom. I want a great restaurant on site and some more local ones near by. I am having trouble finding this spot?? Help. Thank you |
Also if i am giving my wish list.
places to walk, countryside or small town/village. honeycoloured buildings, lots of flowers, light and airy decor, not heavy and fancy...... |
