Anyone purchased a London travelcard from BA.com?

Hi all,

I just found out that you can 'buy' travelcards on the British Air website, and the 7day central zone one comes out to about $20 cheaper than if you buy it from a tube station... Granted, it involves going to a Transport Info Centre to exchange some voucher, but since there's an Info Centre in the Heathrow terminals, it doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal. Does anyone have experience with buying stuff off ba.com? Thanks!

I haven't bought a travelcard from BA but I do always buy a travelcard from Britrail and I don't think it's a big deal to exchange it at Heathrow.
I like having as much of my plans arranged and paid for ahead of time as possible.

British Air and I expect other airlines probably negotiate fees on an annual basis so they can build tham into their packages and websites. In a year like 2004/05 where the GBP has been strong against the $ this can lead to real values. We found the same situation in November with the shuttle service.

Enjoy your good fortune.

How much are they charging? A zone 1 7-day travel card is only £17 so they would have to be practically giving it away to save you $20.

Ooops, I actually got the $20 savings based on buying two travelcards, not one. Sorry about the mix-up.

I bought travel cards from BA and they sent me the voucher with my travel documents and I exchanged them for the Travel Card at Victoria Station which was near my hotel. I thought it was a good deal.
