Anyone made a dinner reservation by e-mail with top-restaurants.com?
This organization in Paris apparently makes reservations for people via the internet. According to Patricia Wells excellent book "Food Lovers Guide to Paris', many of her recommendations can be booked by e-mail. However, I have tried to contact one restaurant several times with no success. Has anyone else had any experience with this?

At the website, rather than e-mailing places individually (from what I understand, most establishments are just not up to speed on checking and answering e-mail yet), click on RESERVATIONS. There, you will find a phone number where you can make all your reservations at once. Or, you can complete the form for up to five restaurants at once.

Donna, I did complete the form. However, I received no answer. I tried near the beginning of August, and again a couple of days ago. Were you able to use the form method successfully, or did you phone?

Can't remember when I tried (a few months ago), but I did receive an answer (filled out the form) within several days. I'm guessing that, because nearly everyone goes on holiday in August (and many restaurants are closed for all or part of the month and can't be contacted anyway), that you'll receive a response when everyone gets back to work in September.

Hi Bev
I tried using it, twice, a few months ago and never got a response
so I just called the restaurants. Or
ask your hotel to do it.

I have just found out that the reservation system does work! I had just finishing telling my husband that it didn't work and I would have to phone the restaurant directly, when I opened my e-mail and there was a reply with a confirmation for the day we arrive in Paris. Maybe it's an August thing! No one home during the traditional month of holidays, and now they're functioning again. Anyway, all's well that ends well. Thanks to the people on this site who replied to my question.
