Anyone live in a Delta hub?

If so, I'm just wondering what the scuttlebutt there is about the possibility of a strike. I know these airline issues always get more press in their hub cities because of the fact that so many locals are employed by the airline.

Here in Atlanta there is a fair amount of buzz. Delta always responds that the public can book with confidence. Seems to me around April 17th is when it may escalate, who knows. Not long ago I paid alot of money for open jaw tickets ATL to BCN then VCE to ATL for mid May. We are so spoiled here with so many direct Delta flights from Atl to many European cities, I sure hope they keep on flying!!!! For many years I have heard that Delta employees were some of the highest paid in the industry but the happy times are over now.

Actually I have been wondering where the buzz was in Atlanta, Really there has been minimal news coverage when you consider the impact that a shutdown would have on the economy. It's not just the direct employees, but all the other airport services.

(Not to mention that without DL we are all trapped here!!!)

Of course my vested interest in this is that I have Delta tickets for June/July and hope they are still flying then. We are in MSP, a huge Northwest hub, so there was a lot in our local media when they were in the same situation a couple months ago. That one played out to a fairly last second showdown with the pilots agreeing to large pay cuts. The scenario was pretty much the same--bankruptcy, possibility of airline shutting down etc.

Me too. I love the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport even though it is a very large and a very crowded airport.Despite all of that, I found Atlanta airport easy to use. I like that food court in the International terminal. Great place to pass the time away on a layover.

This Delta thing had me so concerned that Delta might not be around later on in the summer for flights to Europe. Now I do not know that for certait, but it looks very uncertain at this date.

I booked on another carrier for 06. This year I am going through Newark . I have Never have used the Newark airport. Is it ok and easy to move about?

I hope Delta can get their *stuff* together and be there for us in the coming years!
