Anyone know where the L'Occitane Factory Is?

I have searched on the computer and am not able to find the location of the L'Occitane factory. I believe it is in Provence. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Manosque.

Thanks very much. Can you please tell me where that is. I have a map of Provence but there is no index.

Sebina, find Aix-en-Provence on your map and them look about 50 kilometres north-east ... Manosque is right there in the Durance River valley.

look at your map and find Forcalquier or Valensole(this is lavender and lavendin country) Manosque is south of Forcalquie and west of Valensole. You'll see the Durance River almost beside it.

Thanks everyone. It seems that there is a gap between my Michlin maps. We will be staying in Gordes for severaL days. How far away would Manosque be and would it be worth going?

I would like to hear more about what people's opinions are of this line of products. I have only used a few things and was not all that impressed. What are your favorites?

happytotravel Mar 5th, 2007 02:43 PM

The products that I use by l'Occitane are the linen spray, the lavander hand cream, and the mimosa body lotion. I tried the shampoo and conditioner and didn't care for it at all. I let my daughter(age 11) pick out things from there rather than Bath and Body works because the scents are so subtle. But honestly, I think I only shop there because I never see many people in the store and I feel that they need the business and also its a little reminder of France.

I like the Amber, mimosa and orange fragrances. The men's fragrances are nice and subtle. The shea butter is wonderful for dry skin.

I only like the bubble bath with the honey bees on the label. I can't remember the name.

happytotravel Mar 5th, 2007 04:42 PM

I like the bubble bath too. It makes a lot of bubbles, pleasant scent. Good for kids.

cigalechanta Mar 5th, 2007 05:12 PM

Marg., what's that very old line of cologne that has the bottle with the gold bees?

StuDudley Mar 5th, 2007 05:18 PM

I like the bubble bath too - the only problem is that I can't see the boats in the bathtub because of all the bubbles.

The gold bees are Guirlain's Imperiale. I couldn't believe the price!!!!

The Four Seasons hotel chain uses these products and my wife and daughters seem to like them.

Since there are Occitaine stores all over the USA now, and since I don't think their products are all that special, I personally wouldn't bother making a run to their factory, never mind even one of their stores. It's just "average" stuff by French standards and there are more interesting products all over the country. I do like the bubble bath, but as others have mentioned mainly because it makes loads of bubbles and my kids always loved it.

Back to your original question, here is the website for the factory tour, which my wife insists we take in May.

After weeks of searching, I went to www.google.fr and found the answer.

Please note that you have to book ahead of time, not just show up.
