Anyone know if Hotel Lungarno in Florence is under construction?
 

I read a review on Trip advisor and one person on July 25 said they emailed him after he reserved the room and told him the breakfast room would be close and some rooms on the 3rd floor would also be closed. I am thinking about staying there the first week of October, but I'm worried. I'm between the Lungarno and Villa La Messsa. Help would be greatly appreciated for our honeymoon.

A friend who recently returned (mid-July) from Florence had stayed at the Lungarno. She said the sitting area/bar was under renovation. Too bad. We stayed there in Oct 2001 and enjoyed our stay there very much. One of the best features of the hotel is the beautiful sitting area with the incredible view of the Arno river and the Ponte Vecchio. I'd inquire into the construction status.
