Anyone know Castel, France in the SW
I am reading "Happy Hour, the Secrets of Castel" by Patrice Chaplin. She wrties of her move to Castel, France in the Pyrenees on the borders of France and Spain. Thought it sounded like a charming town to visit but can't find it thru Google maps or on our map of France. Anyone famiiar with it? Thanks!

It's "The Secrets of Ceret." Ceret is a pretty well-known town in French Catalonia. It gets mentioned here on Fodors with some frequency. I believe it's one of Cigalechanta's recommended towns in the area.

Patrice's follow-up memoir to 'City of Secrets', titled 'The Portal: An Initiate's Journey into the Secret of Rennes-le-Chateau' is scheduled for release in September 2010 (Quest Books). Patrice is planning a tour to the portal sites along the Pyrenees in northern Spain and southern France. Here's an excerpt of her upcoming book (previously titled 'The Door'): http://www.andrewgough.co.uk/thedoor.html

We stayed in a Gite just outside of Ceret for 2 weeks in early June '04. Ceret is quite charming. It is also known as the cherry capital of France & we were there for their "cherry fair". Ate too many cherries......
St Cirq - spent the day outside on our deck yesterday. Nice & sunny.
