Anyone know a nice hotel near the Vatican or Coloseum in Rome?

Hi, once we stayed in a hotel right in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was absolutely breathtaking when we would open the window shades upon waking up in the morning and seeing the tower right there in front of us. We would like to have the same experience in Rome. Does anyone know a nice hotel right near the Vatican or Coloseum in Rome? We are visiting this time with our two small children.

Thanks for your responses.

Rose.

what is your budget? Are you wanting 2 rooms or 2 large beds in one room?

Don't know your budget, but if it is high enough, can't beat the Colosseum/Forum view rooms at the Hotel Forum. For the Vatican, I think the Atlante Star has views of St. Peter's.

We don't want to spend more than 250-300 euros. Also, if we can all sleep on a King size bed we would. Otherwise we would go with two beds.

Thanks for your responses.

Grinisa,

Is there a website for the Hotel Forum or the other hotel? It's not on the Fodor's hotel list.

Sorry I can't help; this is my first trip to Italy, but I do have a question?
What hotel did you stay in Pisa?
We were thinking of doing 1/2 day in Pisa, but we may stay there one night. Your experience sounds quite lovely!
Thanks,
Lesa

Lesa,
Give me a moment. I'm going to go back and check.

The website is www.hotelforum.com. They have a special going for August. The Family Room is 340 Euro. In Italy, they won't allow four people to share a traditional double room. You are going to need a quad or family room or two doubles. The website for the Altante Star is www.atlantehotels.com. They also have family rooms.
