Anyone just returned from Rome?? Whats the weather like?

I'm sooooo excited cuz we are leaving on our trip to Rome in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone just got back and could give us the heads up on the weather. I know anything can happen in 2 weeks weatherwise, but it would give me an idea on whether or not to pack this heavy winter coat. Thanx.

It snowed this past week. But, it will change by then.

And, the temperature is 10-20 degrees below normal right now.
Check the Weather Channel website as your departure date gets closer for a ten-day forecast.

Rome is on the same latitude as NYC, but has more temperate winter temps because of the warm Med sea nearby. It occasionally snows, and is generally prone to rain in the winter months. Temps are generally in the high 40s to low 50s, but I live in Zurich and we are in the middle of a very cold wave that is affecting Rome as well.

I would pack a raincoat with a removable lining and bring gloves and a folding umbrella. Seeing Rome is all about walking, IMO, and I would rather be warm than cold. I would actually also bring the winter coat on board with me rather than pack it, as it takes up too much room and I always find the overnight flights cold. Just my preference.

best way to get updated weather:
go to weather.com, and put in Rome. Voila!
you can check every day, a week before, the day before...
I use it regularly as I travel quite a bit...have fun!
