Anyone get Scavi tickets confirmed for July yet?

Just checking, so I can plan ahead, if it doesn't work out for us!

I just got mine confirmed last week for June 23. They were for only 2 people, and I needed 3. The third is my daughter, who is 11. Their site said 11-15 is okay with a parent. I replied requesting another spot for her, but havent't heard back yet, but I'm hoping!

peppermintpatti...

please let us know here when you hear back about your daughter, however it works out. There was another thread here recently about this, in that the website says it is OK for accompanied 11-15 year olds, and then the confirmation comes back saying no to the youngster.

If they have changed their rules then they need to amend the website.

I hope to go in October with 2x13yr olds, and would like to know what is going on with the Scavi Office!

Hi Julia, I also saw another recent thread regarding this. One person who had this happen, sent his payment info with a request that they reconsider. They sent him back a confirmation with another spot, but no explanation whether or not the child would be allowed. Many recent posters here have said that their children were allowed, not ID was requested at entry etc. According to my reply I have 15 days to submit payment. So I am going to wait a few more days, and then send my payment info with a request to reserve either one ticket or three, but not two. My family has gratiously said for me to go on the tour without them if my daughter is not permitted. I am hoping for the best! I will definately post the outcome!

I've requested for July 5th and have heard nothing. I"ve emailed twice (first time in Dec., and called.

I also have a 13 yr old, so I'm just waiting and wondering...

Ours would be for the following day, so I will post if I hear --please do the same.. I think we'll hear about the same time. If this doesn't work, we will either: visit something in Rome we wouldn't otherwise have time for, shop a little more, or possibly make a visit to the catacombs if we're still feeling ambitious!

I just got my Scavi tickets confirmed yesterday for June 17, 2006. I am very excited about going to the excavations.

Hi all, Just got my receipt for the Scavi Tour, and it is for only one person. I emailed them my credit card, explaining that my daughter is 11, so if she is allowed, to charge my card for 3 people, and if not for just one. They sent a receipt for only one. I am disappointed, as is my family. Well, at least one of us can go. I wish they would update their website, so people would not get their hopes up.

Although there have been a few other related comments, it sounds like no one has heard about JULY tickets as yet?

I've just received an email confirmed reservations for July 6th and stating that 15 is the minimum age (no exceptions). I'm afraid those with children under 15 will not get tickets for the children.

I heard today, too. (Had requested Dec.30th)
We had requested 4 tickets for July 5th--one for our 13 yr old. They only gave us 3 reservations.

It's so disappointing. They really need to update their website.
Not sure what to do, but may pass on the whole thing.

Hi everyone,

We (family of 4... kids are 14 and 11) have reservations for the Scavi Tour at the end of June. We requested 4 tickets and got 4. They charged €10 for three of us, and €5 for our youngest.

Maybe they only let a certain # of children in during a given tour (just a guess)? We sent our initial request in in late November and received our reservation on April 26.

oops... that would be €10 EACH for 3 of us, and €5 for our youngest.

Gee, cawhite, I feel cheated!
They didn't even give us a spot for our 13 year old, but let your 11 year old in! Maybe I'll call. Doesn't make sense.

THanks, Italy06.
I just sent an email pleading my case.
(I just replied to the reservation email--hope that works!)
I would not have thought of doing that. So thanks again.

Italy06, How did you word your plea? I tried, and was refused. Maybe if I use your tactics and send another plea I would have better luck? My child is only 11, maybe that was a factor?

Also curious... Did you 2 send your appeal by just clicking "reply"?
