Anyone familiar with the Black Theater in Prague??

Was considering seeing a dance performance called Magik-Grafitti (I think this is what it is called) in Prague at the Black Theater. Has anyone seen this or familiar with this??

We saw a performance there. The black refers to black lights which are used to create illusions on the stage while the performers dance. It was enjoyable but not as great as I'd hoped it would be.

I too, found the experience disappointing. We took the advice of someone at the tourist office of which show to see. The one we saw was basically a sort of vague story line about a mad scientist. The actual black light scenes were great, but they were separated by long scenes of really stupid scenes about this scientist and his assistant. It was like a Saturday Night Live skit gone bad that just wouldn't end. I wish I knew the name of it to warn people away from that particular show, but I'd go for one without a "theme", just the black light sequences themselves.

When I was in Prague in November, the Black Light Theatre shows were on hiatus for 2 weeks. However, I've heard from others recently that the new performance is a great deal of fun, and although I don't know the title of it, there were lots of creepy creatures and bugs (the performers in costumes) in it and the creepy creatures and bugs crawled into the audience, which seemed to be a big hit.

I will advise you though, that I went to Laterna Magicka to see "Casanova" and I thought the performance was really confusing -- too many things going on at once. But, the performance of "The Circus" is excellent. Laterna Magicka rotates its shows weekly.

We attended a performance at the Image theatre on Pariz street called the Best of Image. It was a serious os skits including black light stuff and modern dance as well as several pantomime skits. While I wouldn't call it the most interesting thing I've ever attended, it was amusing, about the right length--1 hour and 20 minutes, only about $10, and required no Czech or other language proficiency to follow. We thought it well worth the time and money spent, especially since black light theatre is a kind of "Prague thing."
