Anyone ever used Northwest Walks or Sherpa for a C2C England hike?

Hi Fodorites,
I'm thinking of booking a guided coast-to-coast walking tour in Northern England. Anyone ever used Northwest Walks or Sherpa?

I haven't, but I'm reminded of these people who used Sherpa:

Well, this is a long shot. Just wondering if the folks above actually went on the Coast to Coast walk. It is now 2015 and my sister and I are planning on it and the link to the trip report (slow trav) is awesome! I've spent the summer in the Lake District before and know how beautiful it is. That was 25 years ago but anxious to do this walk next year (May/June timeframe).

Anyone done this yet? I loved that this husband and wife lived a year in Europe with their daughter. What a great gift they gave her.

Hi Charli,

I'm the person who wrote that trip report about doing the C2C walk back in 2004 with my husband and 11-year old daughter.

After we returned from our 14-month. European trip in 2005, my husband and I started a small group tour company leading tours in Europe. And our daughter is now in grad school-- studying world history. We've now done 9 long-distance walks in Europe, and my husband and I actually did the C2C walk again in 2014, booking again through Sherpa. Even though we were 10 years older, it was an even better experience for us in 2014... we were very careful not to get tangled up around the Black Sail hut. This coming summer we're going to do the Offa's Dyke walk, coast-to-coast (south to north) along the Wales/England border.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the C2C walk. I'm really glad that 11 years later people are still enjoying my old trip report about our first C2C walk.

Kathy

Hi, Charli. I never did end up on the C2C walk. Still a dream. I've done shorter circular walks in the Cotswolds, Peak District and Yorkshire, instead. Envious of your trek! Have fun!

Wow - just through day 8 of that trip report on the slowtrav website. Makes me want to buy hiking boots and a walking stick and get going!

Thank you, Charli, for bringing this up. I hope you are able to do it and will do a trip report when you return.

And thank you, KathyWood, for sharing your amazing adventure!
