TravelerGina,
I am picking up Rick Steves Rome at the library tonight and I will look for a good place to meet for a Limoncello.
Can anyone out there recommend a good place in Rome to meet a fellow Fodorite for a Limoncello?
Thanks

JandaO, great! You pick a place, let me know the name and address, and we'll be there. I hope that others who will be in Rome on the 8th will consider joining us too. I feel like I kinda know many of you just from reading your posts over the past year, and it will be fun putting faces to some of the names!

Traveler Gina and WandaO, first of all Buon Viaggio, I wished that I could be in Rome again!!!
Why dont you meet at the AnticoCafe Greco in Via Condotti 86?Cafe Greco is one of the most ancient cafe in the world, and it was the favourite place of Shelley, keats, Goethe, Casanova etc..,It is very close to Piazza di Spagna. Great place to meet.
I will be with you all in my mind..Say hello to my beautiful city for me.
Ciao,
Kismet

Oh, I am sorry to hear that WandaO, I thought that the Cafe Greco will be an excellent , central , charming place to meet for a drink. Anyway Rome is full of small cafe, I am certain that you may find something close to your hotel.

OK, Janda, I got out my Rick Steves' "Best of Europe" that came with our Eurail tickets last year, and I see there's a wine bar, Enoteca Spiriti, two blocks from the Pantheon. I have no idea what it is like, but it's pretty much centrally located. Facing the Pantheon, walk around to the right and take two rights to Via S. Eustachio 5. That's one idea, unless someone has a better one - all suggestions are welcome!

Hi JandaO and TravlerGina,
Why don't you meet at the fountain in Piazza Navona, then just pick an outdoor cafe. I couldn't think of a better place to meet a new friend.... AND..... I am soooo JEALOUS!!!
Have fun

Janda: That sounds fine - better than us trying to pick and find a place when neither of us know Rome that well. The last time I was there, tho, it was really crowded, so how about meeting near the entrance to the gelato place that is to the right (when you're facing the fountain)?
Enjoy Venice and Florence and, although our paths may cross the day we daytrip to Florence to see David and the Uffizi, we for sure will see you on the 8th in Rome!

We leave on the 1st (down to less than three weeks, but who's counting?)
I'm sure some people are wincing at the thought of you meandering around Florence dressed all in white - not only are you in Europe, but it's past Labor day!!!! It has to be one of those '7 deadly sins' - lol!

Hello, I am traveling to Florence, Venice, Italy as well but not during the same dates as you. I would be curious to know if you've been there before and also, how likely is it to meet others while traveling. I am very outgoing so I don't foresee a problem but of course, you don't want to meet "scary people"
