Anyone else having trouble with the site?

Can't seem to get beyond the 100th thread. Sometimes I can't even get beyond 50. Is anyone else having this problem? If I'm not the only one, how do we alert the Fodor folks?

Susan May 20th, 2002 04:24 PM

Yes. I'm having exactly the same problem.

Lisa May 20th, 2002 04:26 PM

Julie,<BR><BR>Good catch! Indeed, I can't get past 50 either. I can however search on a topic and have old threads come up, so that function is working. <BR><BR>Don't know how to communicate with the Fodor folks. <BR><BR>Lisa

You can let Fodors know at this address: [email protected]

Betsy May 20th, 2002 06:15 PM

No probs getting beyond 50 just a second ago.

Betsy May 20th, 2002 06:20 PM

LOL. Trying to return to the board after posting the message above and couldn't get the message titles on the left to load in. Maybe the board is overloaded tonight. Waitng until the East Coasters go to bed may help.

Statia May 20th, 2002 06:52 PM

I can get past 50 threads, but I'm having the same problem as Betsy, not to mention having pages freeze up and continual error messages after the page does load. I've seen other posts in the past week about the error messages, too. Maybe they're doing some work on the site.<BR>

alison May 20th, 2002 07:59 PM

Hit and miss. Sometimes when logging back no messages show up.

fiona May 20th, 2002 10:25 PM

haven't had that problem but am still getting the errors message. When on the caribbean forum last week I was unable to reply to a post as the forum kept disappearing and I suddenly found myself on the US forum!

I don´t get any error-messages, but very often the site just refuses to open. And I mean very very often. Plus once or twice I have had this "cannot get beyond 50" problem.

FLJudi May 21st, 2002 03:52 AM

Gee I'm glad it's not only me and my computer!

Armk May 21st, 2002 03:56 AM

Consider the possibility that 50 posts on any subject is really enough.

Rex May 21st, 2002 04:24 AM

I've been away for the past three days (daughter's graduation from the University of Rochester), so maybe this problem was transient. And I am always pleased to see the indexing newly updated again. <BR><BR>But I can get as far back as "the beginning" with no problem. For my own posts, that now means back 4719 threads ago.<BR><BR>http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgTopics.jsp?fid=2&searchText=rbmd&start=4700<BR>

Harzer May 21st, 2002 04:57 AM

My problem:<BR><BR>I found a post near the top of the pile that I wanted to answer. But I needed to check some information on the Net first.<BR><BR>By the time I got back to the site, the post I wanted had disappeared at the bottom of the ocean. Huh?<BR><BR>Harzer

Thanks for all the useful responses. I sent Fodors editors an e-mail asking them to review this thread and the comments it generated and incorporate the concerns into their next site update.

Sue May 21st, 2002 11:00 AM

Harzer, open a new window to check info and then return to the window where you were in Fodors.
