Anyone done the fattire bike tours in Paris?

i'm wondering if it is worth 4 hours of my time... anyone have any experience with it? |
We did the Fat Tire tour to Giverny and thought it was a good way to do that side trip. You take a train to Vernon, go to a market and get food for a picnic, then bike to Giverny. Ride is about 20 minutes, very flat. This was the final day of our last European trip - it was great. There were LOTS of tourists at Giverny, since we were part of a group we got to skip the line and go in the group enterance - otherwise we would have waited in line for quite a while.

We did the Paris night tour last year and it was one of my most memorable experiences of the trip. The night tour includes a boat trip down the Seine (with wine) and it was just magical to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. I highly recommend it.

No, but I've ridden with this outfit, and *they were so awesome* . . . .

In fact, I'm wearing the T shirt right now. Wanted to go to Giverney and had reservations, but missed the train to Vernon. The night tour was spectacular. Our group got off to a later start and we were cycling back to "home". Biking under the Eiffel Tower at midnight was perhaps the best moment of the trip. We went in May and were very glad we had packed windbreakers. The cruise on the Seine was very windy and chilly.
GREAT, GREAT way to see Paris from a different perspective! Had hope to also do the Seqway tour in Nice, but ran out of time. |
