Anyone deal with RentalInRome.com lately?

I sent an email from the site regarding renting a particular apartment. I sent it three days ago. I got an autoreply that someone from the Rental In Rome office would contact me shortly. But nada.

I know they are Italian, so "shortly" could mean a little longer there than here, but...

Has anyone had any issues lately renting from and/or getting timely correspondence from Rental In Rome?

Thanks!

This is the email address I have for them: [email protected]. They seem to have someone different working for them right now. He responded to me promptly.

Be sure to check your junk mail, just in case.

We are renting from them in 8 days, our 2nd stay in one of their properties. Responses were pretty prompt.

One tiresome thing about this company, as with all rental properties I've rented in Rome: They expect you to have a cell phone, to contact their agent when you arrive in the city and fine-tune your rendezvous.

I told them we have no cell phone and they agreed to a fixed rendezvous time. We'll see how that goes: those agents are low-paid staff and have little incentive to be prompt.

They do offer an airport transfer with driver, which means the driver does the communicating with the agent. We may just indulge ourselves this trip - it's 50 E for 2.

We definitely plan to use their driver for pick up at the airport.

Just a follow up fyi- they finally responded after 3 days; I guess they had to get ahold of the apartment owner to find out if I could bring my 2 cats.

Alas, the owner said no.

The bright side is that R-in-R replied with a list of other available apartments that have accepted animals in the past.

I picked one in Trastevere and they quickly replied that they had contacted that owner and they said ok to the cats, but to please try to keep them from clawing the sofa.

I replied that the cats would be no problem- they are 13. One has no front claws, the other only has 3 legs. They will probably spend most of their time under the bed sleeping! hahaha

So, good results after all from Rental in Rome! And serendipity for me, as this second apartment looks even more awesome than the one I originally chose!

Re driver service: Yeah, we reckoned 50 E was a good value, versus 2 x 14 E tkts to Termini, then metro to Spanish Steps then a short walk to via della Vittoria

>>>They do offer an airport transfer with driver, which means the driver does the communicating with the agent. We may just indulge ourselves this trip - it's 50 E for 2.<<<

Taxis from the airport to Rome are a set fee of 48€ (4 people including luggage).

Rome Shuttle Limousine charges 40€ (3 people with luggage) for this transfer.

>>>then a short walk to via della Vittoria<<<

FYI - Sit Bus Shuttle has service to Piazza Cavour (a couple of block across the river from Via della Vittoria) from the airport for 5€. Wiki maps says 1.1 km and 13 minute walk from Piazza Cavour to Via della Vittoria.
