Anyone booked hotels in Florence through venero website recently?

I am thinking of booking accommodation in Florence for May, and it seems like the www.venero.com website prices are the cheapest. Has anyone booked rooms through this website before?

I did. The room we got was the cheapest one in Florence that we could still find available during a busy time. Although it was clean, it was in a pretty crappy area (near the train station) and it was just too cheap for me. In fact, it pretty much ruined our trip there--we should have just packed our bags up and taken a room at the Marriott or something, since we so hated going back to our room for a nap, we exhausted ourselves . But I don't think it's venere.com's fault--it was the cheapest room they had, and they didn't try to pretend it was nice.

They secured our reservation just fine, and gave us the price we asked, although they did change hotels on us when we got there (but they moved us to a better one than we initialy booked, from what I could see).

Munna-

Many folks on this site use venere.com to book their hotels. Here is the link to a recent thread regarding booking on venere.com. I'm not sure if any replies were specific on Florence though:

Dear allovereurope,
Can you explain what you mean when you said that venere changed hotels on you when you got there? In that case how did you know which hotel to go to?
thanx,
Munna
