Just wondering what your impresssions of this museum were and if you think it is worth seeking out during a one-week stay in Paris.
Much thanks!

I haven't been in it, but by it. I would say def. no in terms of seeking out for a one week stay -- unless you have some particular thing about Baccarat, mainly. It's small and they have an interesting mosaic fresco on the building, as I recall (Art Deco, perhaps, quite unusual) -- but it's in a part of town that is not that nice and there is no other reason you are going to want to be around there nor anything else to combine with that trip. There are a couple shops nearby that sell expensive glassware and crystal and gifts, things like that. I doubt if there are bargains (I saw none), but I buy my crystal in Prague or Poland if I want bargains.

Thanks, Christina! I have enjoyed reading your Paris trip posts in the past. With only seven nights in Paris, I am trying to narrow some things down.
I definitely will be taking an architectural walking tour of the city, which includes Le Courbusier and Guimard (14th and 16th arrondissements).
If you have any other advice on great walks and buildings there, I'd love to hear about it.
Cheers!

The Baccarat museum has moved from it's old home in the 9th to a new building in the 16th. It is now very trendy, indeed, and beautifully decorated as part of the combined museum and restaurant, Cristal Room. Decor by Phillipe Stark, pretty over the top. I love this kind of stuff and enjoyed seeing it very much. Saw it in conjunction with dinner at the restaurant. But it's probably not worth seeking out unless this week is one of many you've spent in Paris. If so, and you're looking for new places, this is pretty cool. It's at 11 Place des Etats Unis in the 16th, Iena metro.

I've been recently (beginning of December) to dine at Crystal Room and I obviously saw the Baccarat museum. The restaurant is very trendy (decorated by Starck) and worthwile if you are a fan of his work. The food is kind
'nouvelle cuisine', you don't really understand what you're eating and is absolutely overpriced. As to the museum it contains pieces expressely made for Russian Emperors,Turkish Pachas and even the Pope. The building itself and the museum are worth a quick visit but if it's your first time in Paris maybe you can skip it. I suggest you a very nice and trendy restaurant that's also been decorated by Starck, Kong on 1 rue du POnt Neuf. Amazing view from the roof of the Kenzo building. Another trendy one which has become a 'must' is George's on the roof of the Beaubourg. Have fun
