Anyone been to Petrus (London) for dinner recently?

Just booked a table at Petrus for the end of September on the strength of the reviews I read.
Just wondering if any of you have eaten there lately and if you have - was it a good dining experience?

Ok carylspall, the forum index to the left says you have a reply, but I don't see it! What's cooking? Did you see the reply?
Would like to hear from others re this as well. We are planning to have dinner there in the fall (my last meal in London itself was about 3 weeks ago and I have absolutely no intentions of going back into the city until the summer's over, except to catch a Eurostar to Paris or Brussels).

The last time I dined there (didn't pay out of my wallet, of course!) was about a year ago, but Petrus still superb. Love the little amouse-bouches they kept on bringing during the courses. The service can be too attentive sometimes, but not intrusive. You'll most likely be overwhelmed by the wine list (as well as the prices)!! I remember there was a rather obnoxious patron, but can't fault restaurant for that...

Ok! Thanks!
I seem to be having problems with this site again. I couldnt find the question I posted - it had disappeared completely so I went back into "my history" and found the original posting and sent it again. That was yesterday afternoon and it's only now that its appeared!
Expecting the wine to be overpriced. Its a big pleasant surprise in London when you get a reasonable one! I always like to start with a glass of champagne, but really do resent paying £10 a glass.
At least we're staying in a cheap travelodge for the night so it'll help balance it out!!!

I booked my company's CEO at Petrus for dinner two weeks ago. He is based in NYC and was visiting our London office for a couple weeks. I'm told he is quite particular about his food and he absolutely loved it...In fact, he wanted to eat there again before he returned to NYC but we couldn't get a reservation. Sorry, no specific info!

We just ate there in July and had a wonderful meal. We did the tasting menu and just asked the wine steward to bring glasses of wine to match the courses. The service was very attentive without feeling stuffy -- very friendly. Afterwards we asked if we could see the kitchen and we chatted with the chef (not Marcus Wareing but I'm not sure what his name was -- he had lived in Squaw Valley at one time so we chatted about skiing) and had him sign our menu. The total bill was about $650 for two, but this was our one splurge (we left the teenagers with money to go get pizza) and to us it was worth the money. By the way, we had tried to get into Gordon Ramsey's on Hospital Road but it was closed for renovation in July.
