Anybody else have the same problem paying online at SCNF?
My credit card was rejected (though it shouldn't have been) and then I found out that the funds withdrawal was actually authorized. Since the card was rejected I don't have an order confirmation. No tickets.

I'm not sure I follow you as to what happened or how you know your card was rejected, but maybe there was just a computer glitch and the order didn't go through. Anyway, no, I've never had a problem buying tickets online on SNCF with a US credit card. Did SNCF email you and say we "rejected" your card?

Well, the error message was in French. "Something wrong with your card... sorry, we couldn't process this transaction." it seemed like a computer glitch because I have in fact been billed for the tickets! I couldn't find a tel #, just an email option.

Don't know where you're located but I do know that it's quite simple to deal with.
In April, I ordered tickets online from DB for a trip from Frankfurt to Paris. When the tickets did not arrive, I e mailed them and calmly insisted there was no big problem; simply re-issue the tickets. They said they couldn't do that (which of course was a downright lie) that I would have to buy another ticket and then send them (in Germany) when I returned the new ticket and they might issue a refund.
Up yours, I told them...and then I wrote to the credit card company and requested the charge be returned to them because of non receipt of merchandise. And so it was and that was the end of it.
Simply institute non receipt of merchandise procedure with your credit card company and they will send the charge back to SNCF.
