Any Water or Theme Parks open in UK in Nov.?

Is there any water park/theme park/type place open in the UK after October 31st? I would like to book something like that for our last day in London before we fly home, and hoped to go to the indoor water park at Alton Towers--Virgin Trains has a great all-in-one day pass from London. They close, however, on Oct. 31. Ditto Legoland, etc. Do any UK posters know of anything open around Nov. 16 or 17th?

Yes, Blackpool's Pleasure Beach, which bills itself as the most visited place in Britain outside London, but it's too far for a day trip from London. Known for the Pepsi Max, until recently the world's highest roller-coaster, the park caters not just to families but the hoardes who flock to Blackpool, Britain premier seaside resort. If you want to spend the night there, you can witness one of Britain's most hugely popular events - the Blackpool Lights, where at times elaborate Christmas light displays line several miles of seaside boardwalk and double-decker trams, many of which are also lit up by Christmas lights, run the route. Hard to find accommodations on weekends, during week tons of B&Bs (literally hundreds) have vacancies. Blackpool on weekends is mobbed buring the Lights, late August through sometime in November. Blackpool is near Liverpool; folks on Coronation Street regularly commute here from Manchester. In fact there is a duplicate Coronation Street set you can tour in Blackpool.

Depending on what you're trying to do, you might find a Center Parc (that is the right spelling) does the trick: they're under cover.

Go to 'water activities' on their site (www.centerparc.com). Tell the site you're British and it'll limit its information to their four English resorts.

thanks SO MUCH for your replies--I am looking into both options. #3 son will be very happy if I am able to arrange something.

Try the British Canoe Union at Nottingham. The Whitewater Course may be available!

Just the thing for mid-November: "inspiring and encouraging people to go canoeing." Afraid we're not that adventurous.
