any tips on open-jaw flights
 

hay whats going on <BR> <BR> I'm planning a trip in november and would like to fly into Amsterdam and leave from Rome. Is thiis possible, I looked a few places and can't find that option on any internet airsite. Some help would be greatly apprecieted, and also this site has a lot of good helpful hints. If you go to yahoo travel and click on multi-city you can price open jaw flights. I'm sure other sites have this capacity.

For my last batch of open jaw tickets I asked a few travel agents.. and went with the agent who got me the best deal.

Call a good travel agent.

I know you can get quotes from www.biztravel.com for openjaw routing. You can also save it without booking it if the fare isn't right, and update it on a daily basis until it gets down to what you are willing to pay. (That's how I got my tickets to Italy in May)

On most internet travel sites you must select either "multi-city" or "advanced search options" followed by "multi-city" and then you'll get what you want. For the return trip simply enter the city/airport you are flying home from and your home airport destination. However, since this usually increases the price over a plain round trip, it think it's wise to telephone the website, if that's an option (such as with the consolidators) or to find a good travel agent or live consolidator to research it for you.

ditto for the above! Call the airline direct....some are better than others,but we think open jaw is the BEST way to go.

I had very good luck this summer with Expedia -- got an open jaw from Heathrow to Vienna, then Paris to Heathrow -- all for $241. Better than my travel agent offered.

Lowestfare.com was really easy to use and had an open jaw open. I did not purchase tickets through the site--but it was nice to track prices and see which airlines had deals going.

Dear Nick,<BR>I've gotta vote for using a travel agent on this one. While I usually plan everything myself, I also usually fly open jaw, and my travel agent with Carlson Wagonlit has routinely been able to get me better connections, better times and a better fare than I could find for myself over the internet. Don't know how he does it, but I've got to give him credit!

We just did it-flew into Shannon,Ireland and out of Paris (Ryan Air flight from Dublin-London and Eurostar train from London-Paris). Otherwise, we would have had to hightail it all the way back to Ireland! <BR>We got a good rate (considering it was later June) because we were a group of 10-but we did have to go through a travel agent to get a group discount. <BR>But, it was so convenient!
