Any suggestions for apartment rentals in Engelberg?

Hello all -

DH and I are looking for an apartment rental for three nights in Engelberg, Switzerland for early December. I realize that most apartments are rented on a weekly basis, but I know that some owners will rent for less than a week in the off/early season. I've done several searches and have contacted the Engelberg tourist office, but have had no luck.

We may end up staying in a hotel, but our first choice would be an apartment if we can locate one. Our main criteria is that it's centrally located as we'll be traveling by train.

Any suggestions?

Hi Melnq8,

Sorry no personal recommendations. But I did a search at Interhome (www.interhome.com), and they have 12 properties in Engelberg ranging from 2 to 4 stars (I searched for an apt for two people). Though the site says they only rent for a week, I've called their FLA phone number and they agreed to rent a place in Territet for less than that (I changed my mind though).

I realize you live outside the US, but maybe you could have a friend or family member call their toll-free FLA number -- or they may have a number you can call from your location.

Anyway, hope this helps!

Thanks Swandav2000 - I also saw several listings on Interhome, but didn't pursue them as they all seemed to be weekly rentals.

We've recently re-located from Kuwait to Indonesia, but fortunately for us, we can now access US toll free numbers. I'll give them a call once I work out the huge time difference.

Thank you!

Hi Melnq8 and s,

yes, I also asked the staff at the Interhome office for rentals shorter than a week and they agree - at least for low season. Early Dec is still low season, so you should be lucky.

What about an email if you don't want to (or cannot) call?

I.

I've sent an e-mail to Interhome, so we'll see what happens.

Thank you both!
