Any suggestions for accomodations in Venice Italy mid June?

My 22 year old son and I will stay 2 nights in Venice mid June. We have $100/per night budget. Any suggestions? Want to be very close to center.

That's a VERY low budget for Venice. Can you increase it at all, double would be better.

We stayed here and I'd definitely recommend it, but it is a little over your budget. Not atypical for Venice, though.

Can you share one double bed? That's liable to be what you get in the most budget category. Would you consider a hostel?

That is 72 euros.

You would be hard pressed to find a single in Venice for June at that price let alone a double.

That is a Mestre or Lido budget.

The cheap hotels in Venice tend to be near Santa Lucia Station-Lista di Spagna.

Be careful where you stay in Venice. Many cheap hotels or hotel rooms are next to loud pubs or have paper-thin walls with party people in the next room.

Also be aware that repeat visitors already have their reservations made for the good, less-expensive hotels.

Good luck.

Try Al Campaniel. http://www.alcampaniel.com/

We have stayed in their Holiday Apartment near San Toma for around 75 Euro in June. There is a separate bedroom and a wide couch in the living room for your son. It is clean, simple and well located.

The location is very central for visiting Venice. This guesthouse is about one and a half blocks from the San Toma vaporetto stop.

Have a great time! Laurie

Good suggestion for Al Campaniel. Our daughter found it good a couple of years ago. Easy to get to, too.

I already stayed in hotel flora, beautiful decoration, good service and a wonderful garden as the name suggests.

Try to search on airbnb.it
I used it several times. You can stay in someone else house for very low budged. You will share the house but it is a great experience, especially in Venice. We are very welcoming people!

Hotel Alla Fava is $85 dollars per night and abour 15 dollars for another bed. It is about 750 meters from the Grand Canal.

Does Alcampaniel have ac?

jackiebowyer1 Mar 4th, 2014 06:32 AM

Thank you everyone, I will be checking out your suggestions!

I can tell you that the bedroom of the Holiday Flat at Al Campaniel has A/C. We were there 2 times in June and found it comfortable.

Casa Gottardi - may be booked, but ... Love the neighborhood and the lovely view from lobby/breakfast area. Only possible drawback is two sets of stairs up and over canals walking from Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop - lovely unless you have much luggage. May be just above your budget but not by much with the right room.

I want to know if you have found a double in Venice for June @$100 a night yet.

We were in Lake Como in mid June a few years ago and it was sweltering...see if you can get AC (rare) or a ceiling fan. We had a balcony but for security reasons it had a garage door type pull down and not much of a breeze came thru the slats. This we experienced in Lido de Jesolo near Venice and on Lake Como.

You looking for a room, Thin, or just want to snark a bit?

jackiebowyer1 Mar 10th, 2014 09:20 AM

Pepper Von Snoot, yes, we found a room right at $99 a night. The hotel name is Ariel Silva, right in Venice. If you know anything about it I welcome your input. Its nothing fancy but looks like it will fill our need. Thank you.

The Ariel Silva is very close to Ghetto Nuovo, which is near the train station. It's on a quiet street in a very residential area. The double rooms offer a decent amount of space. You could do worse and spend much more. It's a hefty walk to San Marco. Be sure you have an excellent map. You're going to need it.
