any such tour......
I'd LOVE to go on a King Henry VIII tour. I have been obsessed with the whole 8 wives thing and their children and how they succeded to the throne. Been reading everything I can get my hands on non and fiction books. I loved the Other Boylen Sister book. Yeah, not all exactly history but a great read. I think I have read everything on the subject via books and internet.
Any suggestions? PS, I didn't know Mary Boylen was so interesting. And she had two children by KHVIII So it's rumored. |
It was 6 wives, not eight.

I don’t know anything about tours along those lines, but I’d be interested in anything that you find.
I would like to recommend a couple of books; “The Constant Princess” is also by Phillipa Gregory and is the story of Henry the 8ths first wife. I also really enjoyed “The Autobiography of Henry VIII” by Margaret George. Both are novels, but great fun to read if you have an interest in Henry the VIII. |
We just spent the day at Hampton Court Palace with London Walks this Sat...it was Henry the 8th'a palace. Our guide was with us all day and it was very fascinating. They also have a Young Henry the 8th exhibition right now.

I googled and found a tour here: http://www.clubabc.com/TourLanding.aspx?TourId=3071
However, you could almost certainly do the same trip or something similar (or better) cheaper yourself. If I were doing it I'd take rather longer to cover the same ground, and perhaps add some places. Why not go through your books and see what places you might want to visit, then see if they're still standing/open to visitors. |
6 wives, that's what I meant.
Thanks for the book recommendations and websites, I'm looking into them now. |
