any recommended guides for Krakow area?

hi , We are looking for a private guide for the Krakow area and the ones previously mentioned on the Fodor web sites are already busy. Does any one have any good recommendations? We would be very grateful for some names.
We have already contacted Marta and Andrew
sincerely,
Evelyn Vinopal

Andrew was not a guide in 2010 only a driver but he could have updated his status since then. Guides in Poland must be certified, I think.

Are you saying Marta is busy? If she isn't, it would be my suggestion to hire her. She is excellent.

Sorry. Otherwise I cannot help.

Do you want a guide for Krakow? If so which sights? Many places provide their own guides (Salt Mine, Auschwitz, Wawel, University).
Are you looking for a guide for 12 days for Krakow, the Tatras and the other town you mentioned?
Have you contacted the tourist office(s) (Zakopane/Krakow)?

Hi Sher, Yes ,both Marta and Andrew are busy but thanks for responding.
Adrienne we have been in communication with folks on the web but I was just hoping to find names of guides that people on the blog had worked with and liked. I have not been steered wrong by going with Fodorite recommendations when they are available.

I agree that recommendations from folks here are almost always first rate but not too many people on this board visit Poland. A wonderful country.

Check out these guys: http://www.crazyguides.com/

We used them on our trip and had a great 1/2 day tour of Stalin's secluded h--lhole for Polish factory workers. Look: there's a lot to see in and around Krakow including the Salt Mines, the various churches, the Wawel, the Schindler sites, Oswiecim, etc. But the soul-killing nature of communist rule and the Poles' various small rebellions against it (see the Arka Pana in Nowa Huta) get short shrift. Not from the Crazy Guides.

Dear Evelyn,
I came across your post quite by chance. I am a conference interpreter and a certified guide in the beautiful city of Krakow but of course I cannot recommend myself... I can, however, send you some recommendations (including Butterfield and Robinson clients). Please let me know if I can assist you in any way. Agnieszka www.krakowguide.pl (sorry that it is currently under construction)
