any quiet hotel in florence?

I've read on the site only comments about noisy streets. Does that mean there are no quiet hotels?

We stayed at Hotel Bellettini in July of 2001. It is a two star but has air conditioning. Very quiet, good breakfast. You must take the lift to the second floor lobby. No too far to walk from the train station, but close to Duomo.

Florence certainly didn't seem noisy to me, but then I live in NYC so I'm am used to city noises. I stayed at the Hotel Macchiavelli, corner room on the 4th floor, and the only thing I heard was the church bells ringing. If you're worried about noise, just ask for a room that deosn't face the street.

Also, Mack's silcone earplugs work wonders for all travel noise that one is not used to. Wouldn't leave home without them.

Hi Anna! Try the Hotel Morandi alla Crocetta. If you do a search of the Forum you'll find several posts about it, including my rave review.

I stayed at the Hotel Albani on Via Fiume, a very quiet street, even though it is only a few blocks from the train station. The hotel is air-conditioned and also has black-out shutters, so you can really shut out a lot of the noise. I really wish they would make more of the city a pedestrian zone, as they have in other places. It's the motorbikes that are t he noisiest. I saw one knock a woman down in the Ponte Vecchio and never slow down!

Hotel Morandi alla Crocetta is definitely quiet. My husband and I were there in August. Our room faced the street and it was quiet enough to leave the window open at night. Via Laura is not a highly travelled street, yet the hotel is within walking distance of everything. It is very close to the galleria de l'academie.
