Any porter for my luggage in Paris?

I'll have a day of free time during my transit via Paris. I want to do some sight-seeing in the city but I don't want to carry my luggage along. Is there any porter in the airport? Is it safe to leave my laptop there? or I shall carry this 2kg stuff together with my backpack? Will I look like idiot to carry these bags walking in the city? Please help!

I'm not sure if there is a porter service that you are looking for. But personally I would not feel secure leaving my valuables at an airport in anyone else's care.

Jeffrey,

We were in Brussels for a day stop over and we took our carry-on bags with us around the city. It was a little inconvenient on the cobblestones but also, my husband said that we were getting "strange" looks from some men. He was not sure if they were looking to rob us or he thought maybe they were "police" thinking we were suspicious. I have "pulled" my bags to the train station in Paris but would not want to travel all over Paris with baggage!

Until someone else weighs in, from what I've read, there is no left baggage facility at CDG airport and hasn't been for a very very long time due to terrorism (there used to be at some train stations, though, but I think that may be gone now). Maybe you will look dorky (like the cover of Guide de Routard)) but I'd worry more about how uncomfortable it will be. I can't give you names, but I've heard of some hotels that will let you leave stuff in their baggage room for a small fee -- this is a business for some small hotels in front of train stations--I think I've heard of that for Gard du Nord and Lyon.
