Any ideas for a February Europe Trip

Hi. We were looking for somewhere to go in Europe or vicinity this February for a week or so that would not be too cold or raining most of the time. We have travelled through a lot of Europe, but have not been to any of the Mediterranean islands, so we were considering these, but are wide open as we just enjoy travelling, meeting people, and eating good food. Any thoughts appreciated.

what about Sicily? you have the best chance of decent weather of anywhere in Italy, and it meets your other criteria. Cyprus and Malta would also be possibles.

Sicily was a good idea. Seville is an option. We have done both in mid February and had weather near 70 degrees. Same with Barcelona. Lisbon too, in the 60's. It does cool down in the evening in Lisbon and Barcelona.

How about a trip to a great city at greatly reduced prices? We traveled to Venice and Florence a few years ago in February. Stayed in a hotel and a B&B we would never have paid the price for in busy season. No crowds at museums or restaurants; it was great!

We were lucky with weather; temps in the 30's and 40's. But even if much colder, put on a hat and gloves and walk.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually our current airline tickets are into Rome, so Sicily sounds like it would be fairly convenient. If so, how long would you suggest for the stay, we have about 9 days total. We have seen Rome (but could always see more), Florence, Pompei, and the Amalfi Coast on previous trips. Maybe we could fit in Venice as suggested, because we haven't been there yet? Not sure how difficult logistically it would be to do both.

Venice in February can be cold and damp, and really you haven't got time to do Rome, venice AND Sicily.

as you have been to Rome before, I'd try to maximise the sicily part of the trip - fly straight to sicily, stay 7 nights, then fly back to Rome for the last couple of days to be in the right place to fly home.
