Any good websites for learning Spanish and French?
 

I'm trying to learn some Spanish other than greetings and numbers. Do you know any websites that are useful?

I'm especially interested in cheatsheets that could be printed out for a trip, and translation exercises (of sentences) from English to Spanish and French.

I have searched a lot for a website that spells out numbers from 1 to 100 (in French and Spanish) without success.

The language books at my library are lengthy and info is scattered around. Also they are more about grammar than vocab.

I too would like a website tudor that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg... see? I don't know the words for arms or legs en Francais!

For basic language skills in almost any language, I like www.travlang.com. The native speakers are helpful for pronunciation.

Check out www.transparent.com You can sign up to get a "word a day" in your email box. It comes with a word, a sentence incorporating the word and a link to hear the sentence spoken. Start now and your vocabulary will grow.

Don Quijote (a language school with branches in Spain and the Americas) and www.readspanish.com have some free language tools and lessons.

Rosette Stone language software is a recommended educational tool. In addition to CDs, it offers a 1, 3 and 6 month web-based subscriptions to a combined Level 1/2 course (it offers both Latin American and European Spanish courses). A one-month subscription is about US $50, and a 3 month subscription is $90. You could subscribe for 1-3 months before your holiday and learn enough to get around. I'm planning to use the on-line course for Arabic and German for trips I've got planned next year.
