This goes get confusing! If I remember right, Gary doesn't get to Venice till the 23rd?? Anyone out there who will be in Venice from 20th to the 22nd, we are available then. Sorry to all. But I think Gary and Monica and Mom could meet without us. We'll be on our way home via PARIS on Delta's partner AirFRance. Will look for a post when we return telling of a great time on the Grand Canal.

Hi Peggyann,
I am sorry you won't be able to join us in Venice on the 23rd. I do arrive in Venice in the morning of the 23rd. We are driving from Florence and dropping the car when get to Venice. I am looking forward to meeting Monica nd her mother. Monica seems very nice and super friendly. I am hoping 4 others will join us. One works with Mike at his hospital. Just by chance they also are on the same 14 day cruise with Monica. Small world..Again sorry you won't be able to join us but we promise to tell ya all about the get together..
Happy Travels

Gary, How long are are you going to be in Florence?? We have driven that trip from Florence to Venice a couple of years ago. It is quite the ride!! Lots of tunnels (if you are using the Autostrada) and some nice scenery. We did take a wrong turn around the Bologna area. Be careful, the signs to watch are for PADOVA, venice is not mentioned till you get much closer. It took us longer than we thought it would. But that is usually the case, right?? We are with friends and are spending 6 nights at a wine producing B&B in Chianti but will spend one or two days in Firenze. We just came back from having spent about 19 days in Florence. The folks we are travelling with have not been to Italy before. Fun to see it anew from their perspective. Maybe on the crest of the Ponte Vecchio????? Are you staying in Florence????
