Any flight from London to Rimini?
 

Does anybody know whether direct flights from any London airport to Rimini are planned for 2016?

Looks like Thomas Cook has a direct one from Gatwick.

I see what you mean - it's on WhichBudget but not on the airline's site. Bum steer, sorry.

No direct flights, but as airberlin (AB) seems to be the airline with the most flights to Rimini you could check if you can find a decent fare with a connecting flight to Düsseldorf or Berlin from London with BA (AB/BA both OneWorld).

Whichbudget has a lot of flights that don't exist, I've found. Mainly they claim lots are nonstop when they aren't.

Air Berlin has flights from London through Berlin beginning in May. They don't have flights to that location in winter.

Does the OP want something more than what booking engines can spit out in seconds by simply entering the details?
The all airplane routes seem convoluted using layover (s).
There are several daily direct flights to Bologna and frequent trains from Bologna to Rimini.

Rimini airport shows a couple of flights from Luton, one with HOP and the other with BMI. www.bmiregional.com

Thank you greg, but I'm familiar with the painful journey from Bologna Airport (bus + train). That's exactly why I was asking the question.
I was hoping for some insider information / rumours, maybe somebody working for an airline or an airport.
Last year I went via Dusseldorf, which was a bit expensive because of the overnight stay at the hotel, but stress free.

It's not just from London.

There are direct flights with Ryanair from Stansted to Ancona, which is not far south of Rimini by train. You would take a taxi or bus to the train station in Falconara Marittima or Ancona (depending on best scheduling). Falconara is nearer the airport, but only regional trains (a little over an hour) stop there. Ancona is further away, but there are fast Frecciabianca trains (50 minutes) stopping there, which stop only in Pesaro before reaching Rimini. The total time is no different, but having a reserved seat in a more comfortable train may make it more bearable. The buses stop at both stations.

I don't know how painful the trip from Bologna to Rimini is, or whether this would be any better. I myself would prefer it to a connection in Dusseldorf.

bvlenci. I've tried Falconara, but like Bologna doesn't even compare to landing in Rimini itself!

Also I'm not sure about reserving the seat on the Freccia trains, because if the flight is delayed or the bus gets stuck in traffic, your ticket becomes useless right?
Last time I landed in Bologna I just missed a Freccia so I had to wait nearly an hour for the Regionale "Veloce" train which took 1 hour 55 minutes!

The good thing with Dusseldorf is that there are lots of cheap flights from London on the Friday evening so you don't need to take the day off work. Plus the following day at 7.30am you are already in Rimini. No waiting in train stations, no getting stuck in traffic on the bus!
It's more expensive though, I give you that, but I'm prepare to spend a little bit more for some comfort.

I wasn't suggesting that you reserve the Frecciabianca train in advance. The trains are fairly frequent and start in Ancona, so should have plentiful seats left at the last minute. I agree that you shouldn't reserve anything that depends on a flight arrival time.

If flying through Dusseldorf suits you better, it doesn't matter. I myself hate airport transits, but it sounds as though you plan to spend the night in Dusseldorf. I don't think that would appeal to me either.
