Any experience with SkyAuction.com?
 

Does anyone have any experience with SkyAuction.com? I have seen some UNBELIEVABLE deals on the site! Has anyone tried it?

I think there have been some positive comments here, but a (slightly greater) number have pointed out that, in the final bid, the price sometimes goes OVER market price - - and with restrictions that may make the deal a lot less "bargain" than it initially appears. <BR> <BR>Best wishes, <BR> <BR>Rex

I agree that you have to watch closely, but I just saw tickets to Frankfurt go (winning bid) for $226. That did not include $195.00 for taxes/S&H. That still seems like a good price. They were roundtrip. This seems to be better than trusting Priceline. Any thoughts about the comparison to Priceline?

We used Skyauction for a March-April trip to Amsterdam..It is easy to get caught up in the auction and bid more than you intend, so set a limit and stick. Our deal wasn't 'unbelievable' but thought it was pretty fair. We paid $720pp(including the added s/c and tax) for 6 nights at 3-star BestWestern and airfare from Florida. The company delivered as promised, and we got the first choice of travel dates. They answer emails, too.

I've booked tickets three times on Skyauction.com. You can get some really good deals to Europe, but usually not London--people seem to pay at least if not more than market price for the London flights. Stay away from the US flights--they are not a bargain. Don't really know about the rest of the areas. <BR> <BR>The key is to wait until just before the auction finishes to place a bid. Otherwise, you're just driving the price up on yourself. Also, make SURE you set a FIRM limit for yourself (don't forget the tax!). Otherwise, you'll find yourself caught up in trying to beat out the other bidders and spend way more than you wanted to.

I really thank everyone for their input about SkyAuction. I am going to watch them very close & when it gets near the time for me to book I will bid. I am so excited!
