Any experience with Paris Luxury Apartment Rentals or Paris Address?

We are going to Paris next spring to celebrate Dad's 80th birthday and three other family birthdays. There will be 6 of us and we are looking for a 3 bedroom apt. Ideally, we'd like to be in the 6th arr. near Jardin Luxembourg. So far we have found two flats available for our dates.

Has anyone stayed at this flat, or rented from Paris Luxury Apartments?

We are also looking at this apartment with Paris Address:

Has anyone stayed there or have experience with Paris Address? They require a $6000 Euro security deposit which seems incredibly high to me and makes me a little nervous about renting from them.

Welcome any thoughts on either flat. Thank you!

Have never rented a place that big. As for Parisattitude (I assume that's what you mean, not "Paris Address"), there are a couple French rental agencies that have the same deposit terms which do seem very high. The problem is their terms sets it equal to the rent or something, so it isn't bad if you are renting a modest place for a short time, but becomes very expensive if you rent a very expensive place or longterm.

I don't like those terms so for a place where it amounted to so much, I'll admit it would make me too nervous to use them just for that reason. Even though I know people who have used them and things were fine, but it is an agency where you are really dealing with a private owner and they are the go-between. If you are crazy bout a place on there, you could ask about those terms and point out how much it amounted to for expensive places, and see what they say (or the owner). In fact, I did rent from a similar agency with the same terms (lodgis.fr) and the owner I rented from waived the entire deposit for me if I bought rental insurance for damages from an agency they gave me a link to (which only cost 30 euro). After all, once you are there, that is what the deposit is for, damages. And the deposit goes to the owner, so that is why they can set their own terms if they want to change it (I'm sure they couldn't make it more).

Paris Address is a very reputable company that we are happy to recommend.

The second apartment is with Paris Attitude which is a completely different company. I believe for some reason their website comes up when you google paris address.

Paris Address - www.parisaddress.com has a very reasonable deposit requirement - approx. 30% of the total and payable by credit card.

We've used Paris Vacation Apartments www.parisvacationapartments.com several times and have always been happy with them. They have a couple 3 bedroom apartments but I'm not sure how close they are to Luxembourg gardens.

I've just looked at the PVA apartments. They are much less expensive than the others and seem to be comparable sizes. I've stayed in the building that the Palais Royal apartment is in and it was very nice with views og the Palais Royal gardens. The St Germain apt is closer to the river than to Luxembourg gardens.

Sorry, you all are right, it is Paris Attitude (not Paris Address, although I looked at them too!). Thank you Judy for the PVA recommendation -- I also looked at Paris Vacation Apartments and unfortunately they have nothing available for our dates.

We also stayed in Paris Perfect's Touraine apartment in September (3 bdrm, 3 bath)....a truly lovely apartment. They don't have their availability on line but looks like they're having a sale now. This apartment was huge, beautifully appointed and right on the Seine. It was father east than I usually like to be but close to transportation.

Judy: Which Paris Vacation apt did you stay in? They have 3 or more in the Palais Royal.

Several of the reviews on their site are absolutely ecstatic. We're planning to be back in Paris 12 months from now and I'd be very interested in yr report on the apt and the firm.

(Apologies for highjacking w/ personal inquiry)

tedgale, we stayed in the 1st floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath. It was great but a little dark as it was under the arches around Palais Royal. The one on the 2nd floor is probably brighter with higher ceilings.....minor issues though as the apartment was exactly as depicted and the agency was a joy to work with, very responsive to e-mails and also responsive to a minor problem we had with the apartment.

We usually stay in the 6th and were pleasantly surprised with the ease of getting everywhere from that location.

More recently, we've stayed in their Ile St Louis apartment (which I think flygirl mentioned in her latest trip report, and liked that one even better.

Feel free to e-mail with any questions...my e-mail's in my profile.
