Any experience iwith Paris Personalized?

Has anyone used Paris Personalized? I am interested in some of the private walks they offer and the day trip to Champagne. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My favorite street in Paris is Rue de La Seine. Very authentic in architecture, old parisian feel and friendlier than many other parts of the city. Loaded with butcher shops-chickens in wooden crates, gregarious old timers, patiserries. Wonderful for a fun walk. Quite refreshing from the stuffy areas!

I was mugged in front of the George Pompideau Center and also at Sacre Couer. Tossed off the metro in the Tunisian district (I was in the wrong "class" subway car-I bought a 2nd class ticket, hopped into a 1st class car without knowing.......all subway personal are required to speak English. They refused to speak English and laughed at my French pronuciation.

Uggh..good luck in Paris and bring $$$$ so you can travel FIRST CLASS.

Ummmm....classic, sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in Paris, but what does that have to do with the company I posted about??? Anyone else have helpful feedback?

That would have been some years ago, since subway cars are no longer 1st/2nd class.. all the same now...

When you're going into the art dealers on rue de Seine, be careful not to fall over a crate full of squawking chickens. ;-)

Haha. Thanks for the advice, Toupary.

They haven't had two car classes on the metro for about 15 years--did away with them in the early 1990s. Anyway, I am skeptical that they would throw someone off a car rather than fine them for that, which is what they used to do (although it was getting rare they even did that around 1990). I don't even know how they would throw them out of the metro system for that, which would actually take some doing to get from the car all the way to the street). Even if they did, you could just immeditely go down into another metro stop and get on.

So, I do find that story a little hard to believe. Very hard, unless Classic was doing something other than innocently riding in a first class car by mistake.

Do not know Paris Personalized, but have heard many folks like Paris Walks, which is pretty cheap. I've used Cityrama for a day tour and thought they were very good. They do have one to Champagne country, although that isn't the one I took.

We contacted her last spring for our visit at the end of May but she was already booked. She recommended another guide.
