Thanks...keep me posted...I'll be checking back..In the past we have been very fortunate with good weather...despite predictions for rain...and I had in previous years had everything prebooked...but now that I don't it is good to be flexible. But when you have been planning for mountains, luge rides, lakes etc...

Sun on the 1st of July is the latest prediction, some form of rain til then, 60% chance, after 2 inches today. Saw it was snowing in G-P. Hopefully Alps weathermen can be wrong like here...if you see some changes coming in let me know. (PS to LLinda and Ann-hope you are having a great vacation despite the rain)

Brightest sunshine in Karlsruhe right now.

Quokka, thanks for the info, the forcast for Karlsruhe looks good too. Enjoy! Is that about 3 hrs from Munich?

logos999 Jun 22nd, 2009 10:49 PM

Yes, about that distance. In Munich it's 51F and moderate rainfall. Not yet as intense as predicted.

However, I have to switch on the lighting inside the house, it's rather dark outside.

Warning of havy rain until tomorrow afternoon. 110 liters per m2. How much that is in inches, I don't know :-)

People at the danube are preparing for the great flood. Still raining. Austrian TV is reporting this night is critical. Massive floods from the mountains. Thursday being the worst day of flooding. Maximums expected in the early evening.

Summer weather in Europe is strange. We've always traveled in May or September and have been very lucky with the weather.

kleeblatt Jun 23rd, 2009 12:52 PM

September can bring some really crappy weather in Switzerland. October is usually more reliable (but not always).
