Any Concerns about flying United Airlines?

Hello, I have been quoted a price of $705.00 including taxes for an open jaw ticket leaving Des Moines for London Heathrow and returning from Paris CDG. It is on United airlines in early June and returning late June.
Is this a decent rate for this route and this time period? Should I have any concerns about flying United since they have recently filed Chapter 11 and have done so much restructuring? Thank you for your opinions. Laurie

I would snap it up. I've been having a hard time finding fares for June under $1000. United will stay in business if we continue to fly them. The surest way for them to get into worse shape is for everyone to quit flying them because they are "in trouble".

Laurie, $705.00 is a very good price for that time of year. We have tickets purchased on United for August from Des Moines to Sydney. Grasshopper is right, if everyone quites flying United they will go under and we will have one less choice and higher prices.

That seems outstanding to me. I'm just looking for a simple RT Wash DC-Paris for late June and the United fare is more like $1100 and this is a United hub.

I was able to get a round-trip United ticket for my son; Austin, Texas to London Heathrow and return--June 1 to July 17--for $705. And I got the same round-trip for my wife--July 16 to August 14--for $946. I feel sure that United will still be flying at that time. These were savings of $250-300 over the next best I could find.

Regards,

Jinx Hoover

Personally, I think United should be paying us to fly United. Last flight I took, from Seattle to Chicago, was on an airbus, and there was virtually no leg room and no oxygen. I felt like I'd been through the wringer by the time I arrived. Yes, I'd be concerned about flying United, but for health reasons.

Thank you all for your replies. Justfares is holding the tickets for me until tomorrow, so I think I will jump on them. The connections and times are very good! Thanks so much for your opinions! Laurie
