Any asthma problems in the Alps

Has anyone with asthma every had problems staying in the Alps? We are heading to Murren at the beginning of June and wondered if staying up there would cause any problems for my nephew.

Is this allergy month for Switzerland? ((b))

I had a bit of a problem at first, just being kind of short of breath but as I got used the altitude it went away. It was probably less than a day for me to get used to it. I did have to use the albuterol inhaler a couple of times when I was hiking - again probably the altitude plus the exertion. If you're talking about allergy-related asthma, it might be a little different. Just be sure to keep the medication handy.

Not allergy related. It is rare that he has flare ups, but he does still experience nose bleeds. We are taking all the meds with us, but was just wondering would altitude play a part. We live at sea level.
Thank you

I am asthmatic but my only problem there was altitude. It took a few days but I adjusted.

Silivia,
I also have very mild, exercise-induced asthma, and worried about hiking in the Alps. Any potential problems are generally above 8000 feet. Murren is fine, should be no trouble. Mt Titlis is at 10,000 feet, so move around slowly for the first several minutes to gauge response. If you're going up to the Jungfrau just to look out, all should be well. If actively hiking this high up, I took a prophylactic "hit" of albuterol... Happy travels!
