I love LYON, Provence, and Burgundy--

Food and wine in Burgundy area is to die for- actually better than Paul Bocuse in Lyon--

Also staying in a chateau in Loire Valley is high on my list also

Emily:

Don't try to do too much. Two weeks is not enough time to see and absorb many of the great suggestions that have been made.

France, like a good wine, has to be savoured. Go back again if you can.

We have been to France some seven times over the past ten years and the area that we keep returning to is Provence. Nevertheless, we have not seen nearly all that there is to see...and probably never will

I'd recommend the Loire Valley and Provence as well. The small villages in the Luberon are gorgeous.

If you end up in the Loire Valley, we had one of the best meals of our life in Chinon. The place was called Les Trentes I think. (the 30's). It was 2 years ago, but if it's still there, anyone would know it. It's on a side street and small -lovely ambiance and meal.
